Anthony Gargano’s Wedding

Congratulations to WIP personality Anthony Gargano and Tamara Hummel who were married August 2.  Here are some of the details of the wedding.

Tamara L. Hummel to Anthony L. Gargano

Ceremony: at PAFA historic building.
Reception: at Fuel, 3rd and Arch
The bride attended the ceremony in a classic lace Edgardo Bonilla gown with a beaded Lazaro sash, with red Christian Louboutin heels, while the groom wore a bespoke tuxedo made by tailor Pasquale Scioli.
For the reception, Tamara changed into a beaded organza Badgley Mischka gown — a forties glamour gown with antique beading, more fitting for the reception. Groom then changed into a white dinner jacket.
AMONG THE GUESTS: Pat Croce, director Tim Chambers; Pete Ciarocchi, from Chickie’s and Pete’s, from WIP, Angelo Catladi, Rhea Hughes, Ike Reese, Rob Charry, Marc Rayfield; from 950, Mike Missanelli; as well as former partner Steve Martorano, also in attendance.
CATERER: Tony Cardillo. Chef and co-owner of La Veranda. Wowed the crowd with incredible food. Baby lamb chops, raw bar with crab claws, oysters and jumbo shrimp, a Tuscan table were among the appetizers. The other courses included pasta mista — gorgonzola gnocchi, pesto toretllini and rigatoni matrigiana, insalata pazza — spinach salad with pine nuts, goat cheese, golden raisins and carmelized onions with balsamic vinegearette, intermezzo with limone sorbetto and the entree was surf and turf.
Desserts included a vast selection of Italian specialty pastries, including a groom’s cake called “Ba-ba” consisting of yellow cake soaked in three different liquers, a Cardillo family recipe from Naples, constructed by Giuseppe Cardillo, Tony’s brother and co-owner of La Veranda.
CAKE: Nina of Truli Confectionary Arts desgin a custom-designed four-tier, hexagon-shaped cake embroidered detail to match the bride’s wedding gown. Two tiers devil’s food cake with champagne ganache strawberry and the other two were banana cake with ganache and bavarian cream with caramelized bananas.
Honeymoon: Greek islands.

NBC10, which is already short an anchor after the departure of Vince DeMentri, will be without weekend morning anchor John Blunt  for a few weeks, as he is scheduled to undergo knee surgery according to industry sources.

Comcast SportsNet Adds Eagles Pre-Game Live This Season

In a move that is long overdue, Comcast SportsNet is adding Eagles Pre-Game Live an hour before each game, starting with the Eagles-Rams game September 7 at noon.

The entire Post Game Live crew – Michael Barkann, Vaughn Hebron, Ray Didinger, Governor Ed Rendell, and Derrick Gunn will be part of Pre Game Live.

Other CSN football shows this season include Fantasy Fix, Pro Football Now, and Monday Night Live.

Next for Larry – The Emmys?

So after Larry Mendte’s press conference on Friday, will his next stop be the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards at the Philadelphia Marriott on September 13th?

The former CBS3 news anchor is nominated for 19 awards, but obviously he won’t be invited to sit at the CBS3 table.

Could he end up at the Fox29 table with wife Dawn Stensland, who is also nominated for 2 Emmys and who industry sources say is planning to attend the ceremonies?

I wouldn’t put it past him.

WYSP Changes Format Again

Once again, WYSP 94.1-FM, which should be called W-Y Did Howard Stern Have To Leave Us- P, is changing its format.

Playing music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, its new tagline is 94YSP, The Rock You Grew Up With.

Summer Winners and Losers

Here are my televisions winners and losers of the summer:

The Big L – Locally, it was Lane and Larry.  Alycia Lane and Larry Mendte will go down in infamy as one of the craziest sagas in local television history.

Summer Olympics:

Winners –  Morgan Freeman’s voice, Volleyball, “The Redeem Team,”and Michael Phelps.

Losers – The fall NBC lineup promos.  Looks like NBC will be in fourth place again if the best it can come up with is “ER’s” final season.

NBC’s summer schedule- Celebrity Circus, Celebrity Family Feud, Baby Borrowers, Last Comic Standing.

More Trouble for NBC – Jay Leno on the way out.

Favorite New Show – Swingtown.  Long live the 70’s!

Favorite Summer Show – The fourth season of “Kathy Griffin’s My Life on the D List.”

Favorite Critically Acclaimed Show – “Mad Men” on AMC.

Favorite Stupid Summer Reality Shows – “Denise Richards:  It’s Complicated” and “Living Lohan” on E!
