Recap of Phillies Weekend

Here are some Philly Phun Phacts from the weekend of baseball.

Rain Delay Programming – I’m sure I wasn’t the only person who did not watch Fox’s offering of “Till Death.”  I watched the 1982 classic, Fast Times at Ridgemont High on one of the HBOs.

Forget Joe the Plumber – We have Joe the pitcher and power hitter.  Way to go Blanton!

Bad Facial Hair, Good Pitching – Blanton and Scott Eyre

Numbers Game – Maybe there is something to 1980 and 2008.

Father’s Day – Phillies announcer Harry Kalas and his son, Todd, who is an announcer for the Rays announced the starting lineups for Fox on Sunday.

It Sounded Better on Paper – Fox’s wired up feature was mostly used to hear Shane Victorino say “I got it, I got it.”

Comcast Error – Many viewers (including me) missed a chunk of the game during Saturday’s game.

Best Bench Warmer – Geoff Jenkins

Best Local Television Team – Comcast SportsNet

  1. Worst local reporter: Keith Russell 6ABC. Comes off as phony, full of cliches, and too much of a fan and not a reporter.

2nd worst local reporter: Jaime Apody 6ABC. Thinks she is the little sister at the fraternity party. Like, OMG, its Jayson Werth, he is like, hot.

3d worst local reporter: Thomas Drayton, Fox29. Out of his league. Trying too hard when little effort is required.

  2. Someone needs to alert Drayton that the venue is named Citizens Bank Park. Not Citizens Bank Ballpark, dude.

    This guy is simply dreadful.
