He’s only been back on the air for a little over a month, but like he did when he worked at NBC10, Fox29 meteorologist John Bolaris has managed to keep his name in the news, mostly with his new partner in crime, Kerri Lee Halkett of Fox29.
Here are a few Bolaris blurbs from February:
February 21, 2008 - Michael Klein
Fox29’s Kerri Lee Halkett is helping colleague John Bolaris meet women. At Philadelphia Magazine’s “Philly Cooks” event Tuesday night, Bolaris was spotted pecking Halkett on the cheek. Quizzed about the public display, Bolaris conceded that he was thanking Halkett - who has a beau - for obtaining the business card of a woman he admired.
February 20, 2008 - Dan Gross
While Fox 29’s John Bolaris and Kerri-Lee Halkett have been spending a lot of time together recently, the pair both insist there’s no funny business, but they are very good friends. The colleagues have made several professional appearances together at the Morris Animal Reguge’s Fur Ball and last night at Philadelphia magazine’s Philly Cooks event. Halkett is actually dating Jay Jones, 32, an attorney with Phelan Hallinan and Schmieg LLP, which specializes in bankruptcy law. The couple have been dating for two years on and off, with Halkett and NBC10’s Jamison Uhler linked during an off-period. They’re now back on and have hung out together with Bolaris, whom Jones says seems like a “pretty cool guy.”

Expect word shortly that Fox29’s Kerri Lee Halkett will move to nights, and get a high-profile reporting role on the 10 p.m. news. She’ll leave the 11 a.m. show, as Good Day Philadelphia morning anchors Sheinelle Jones and John Anderson extend their on-air workday till 11:30 a.m. Halkett, who will continue anchoring at 5 p.m., will contribute special reports for the 10, anchored by Dawn Stensland and Dave Huddleston. Fox29 also will amp up its Web prescence as part of the change. Halkett and Fox29 weatherguy John Bolaris emceed the Fur Ball, a Saturday night fund-raiser for the Morris Animal Refuge. The newsies’ appearance led to interesting TV, as you can see from clips linked from http://go.philly.com/furball. Fox29 proudly showcased Halkett and Bolaris in its story about the ball. NBC10’s report somehow ignored them in favor of Mayor Nutter and honoree John DeBella of WMGK (102.9) - but they showed up in the background anyway.
February 5, 2008 - Michael Klein
Fox29’s John Bolaris needed his strength Saturday night. Out with colleague Kerri-Lee Halkett at Rittenhouse Square’s cozy Tinto, he got the sirloin special. When he finished, he ordered another.

Notable faces? MMR’s Matt Cord wearing his usual sunglasses and pegged jeans, sipping beer and hob-nobbing with the media maul. There was also an early sighting of John Bolaris, decked out in black and carrying a too-snazzy-to-be-manly handbag and a microphone.
