Phillies announcer Harry Kalas is off the air for a few games, recovering from surgery to fix a detached retina in his left eye.
Meanwhile, last week voting closed for Radio Hall of Fame voting, of which Kalas was nominated.
To make up for Kalas’ absense, radio announcer Scott Franzke filled in on television and pre and post game host, Jim Jackson, did some innings on the radio.
UPDATE – Kalas returned for Sunday’s Braves/Phillies game, working only radio since today’s game was on Fox. According to the Phillies, he will travel with the team to Washington, D.C. following the Phillies’ ALS event Monday.
