Degs Gets New Digs

Reading Phillies radio announcer Steve Degler is moving exclusively to television this season, as he’ll announce both the Reading Phillies and Lehigh Valley IronPigs games on Service Electric Cable TV2.

Degler will announce 76 IronPigs games and 20 Reading games on TV.

For IronPigs’ games, Degler will be joined by former Phillies reliever Ricky Bottalico.  Bottalico’s schedule will be determined by his work on Phillies Post Game Live on Comcast SportsNet.

The Reading Phillies are expected to make an announcement about the new radio announcer soon.

  1. any word on whether or not Mitch Williams will be back as a post-game analyst?

  2. He is the most robotic baseball announcer ever! That’s why he has been in the minor league’s for 17 years.

  3. What ever happened to Chuck Kirlin? He was the TV broadcaster for the Reading Phils for years?

  4. THANK YOU Laura for finally covering SOMETHING happening involving the Reading market.
