Merrill Dedicates Eagles’ Broadcast To Phil

Eagles’ announcer Merrill Reese dedicated Sunday night’s broadcast of the Eagles-Dallas game Sixers beat writer Phil Jasner, who died of cancer last week. Reese and Jasner were classmates at Overbrook High and Temple University.

Joan Is Tearing It Up

The funniest show of the week is Fashion Police with Joan Rivers on E! Fridays at 9:30 p.m.  Don’t let the title fool you.  The show is barely about fashion.  It really about Joan joking about celebrities.

Joan Rivers: Piece of Work comes out on DVD Tuesday.  Her upcoming reality show with daughter, Melissa is scheduled for early 2011 on WE.

Stern Stays With Sirius

I am so happy to report that Howard Stern announced that he will stay with Sirius Satellite Radio for another five years.  I’ve been a loyal listener since his show began in Philly in 1986.

Scared Of Santa Contest

If you have a photo of your child scared of Santa, you could win $500.00 from Mix 106.1-FM.

Philadelphia’s Phil

Condolences to the family of longtime Sixers beat writer Phil Jasner, who died of cancer at the age of 68. Jasner was a regular on Comcast SportsNet’s Daily News Live and frequently appeared on WIP 610-AM throughout the years.

Jasner, a graduate of Temple University, is survived by his son Andy, who is also a sportswriter, and two granddaughters.

Fox29 For Fran

Fox29 is one of the six Fox stations airing a three-week trial run for the new Fran Drescher talk show weekdays at noon.
