Dr. Phil (adelphia) Moves to 4 P.M. on CBS3

Dr. Phil finally will move to 4 p.m. on May 26, a day after the final Oprah Winfrey Show.

Because of contractural terms, Dr. Phil was forbidden to air in the same timeslot as Oprah.  The local news will move from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on CBS3.

  1. FORBIDDEN???? WILL HE GET SHOT??????

  2. Very smart – I suggested this back in the day on this board.
Dr. Phil will get the former Oprah audience, who will stick around and watch the news.

    Well done.

  3. who cares, he should be taken off the air, I am surprised that Oprah actually likes this guy

  4. Hopefully the new 6abc news at 4 will kick his butt to the curb… where it belongs…

  5. maybe this is the jump the shark moment for Dr. Phil!
By the way how many think the main daughter in the Dr. Phil family that aired this year looks exactly like Alycia Lane?

  6. lauranachman

I actually think Pia Toscano from American Idol looks like Alycia Lane.

  7. didn’t take ch.3 long to throw in the towel in to ch. 6 for the 4pm news crown!
    Wow hasn’t even started yet!

  8. New Clear Power

Are they throwing in the towel or does it make sense to have a solid 90 minute local newsblock from 5-6:30 instead of news, Dr. Phil, news?

It’s not a bad strategy to move Dr. Phil to 4 since it maintains consistency in programming (talk shows back to back to back).

  9. The whole reason Dr. Phil was at 5 was to get the Oprah viewers. Now that Oprah isn’t on at 4, many of their viewers will watch Dr. Phil instead, and stick around for the 5pm news on CBS3. Great idea by them. The Dr. Phil lead-in always got them viewers at 6, but 4pm they had nobody.

  10. I’m sorry but Dr. Phil can’t compete with Shirleen Allicot or Alicia Vitarelli. If given the choice I know who I’d be watching at 4pm. Once again 6abc shows you why their number 1.

Any word on who will be the 5pm anchors on CBS? Chris & Susan
