According to Dancin’ On Air producer Mike Nise’s Facebook page, the Dancin’ On Air marathon, which aired on Channel 17 Saturday night was #1 in the 18-49 demographic.
My Facebook was lighting up about it all night on Saturday.
Lotsa people w/o a life………..
The high ratings just goes to show you that after nearly 25 years since the last DOA episode aired, this show is still very popular to this day. Even some people from younger generations were watching the marathon with their parents, some of whom watched or even danced on the show.
Already, the Centric cable channel airs reruns of classic episodes of Soul Train, and hopefully Channel 17 will do the same thing and air more classic episodes of DOA in the future. I would also like to see a new DOA with today’s generation of teens and young adults dancing on the show, but I don’t think it will actually work or happen.
With all due respect to DOA, the dancers on Soul Train, were not the main focus. The live appearence of top entertainers was the draw. So dont compare apples to grapes.
