As the National Constitution Center’s official media partners for its blockbuster exhibit, From Asbury Park to the Promised Land: The Life and Music of Bruce Springsteen, CBS 3 and The CW Philly have been inviting viewers to take an intimate look at the Boss’s early years.  This Wednesday, March 28th, Talk Philly, CBS 3’s Emmy-Award winning lifestyle program will celebrate his legacy with a special all-Bruce edition of the show airing at 12 noon.  The program will be rebroadcast Saturday, April 7th at 7:30 on CBS 3, Sunday, April 8th at 4 p.m. on The CW Philly and Saturday, May 12, 5:30 p.m. on CBS 3.

Hosts Ukee Washington and Pat Ciarrocchi will take the Springsteen story back to its Philly roots with special interviews, rare photos and local memories.  Washington will sit down to talk with local rock historian Denny Somach about Springsteen’s early days in the City of Brotherly Love.  He also talks to Judy Sciaky, widow of the late legendary DJ Ed Sciaky, who shares rare family photos of the world-renowned rocker who slept on their couch on visits to Philly.

Ciarrocchi takes local viewers on a Springsteen-centric tour of Asbury Park, New Jersey to see the local haunts that inspired the music.  Erika von Tiehl offers an inside tour of the National Constitution Center exhibit with Jim Henke of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum who assembled the display from Springsteen’s personal memorabilia. The special also includes interviews with the Boss himself, Little Steven (Steven Van Zandt) and an interview by local rock reporter Cyndy Drue with Clarence Clemons, believed to be one of the last given before his death.

The National Constitution Center is hosting From Asbury Park to the Promised Land: The Life and Music of Bruce Springsteen through September 3, 2012. Never before seen outside of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, this first major exhibition about the American songwriter takes a comprehensive look at Springsteen’s career and catalog, including more than 150 artifacts, including the Fender Esquire from the cover of Born to Run, the outfit Springsteen wore on the cover of Born in the U.S.A., numerous handwritten lyric manuscripts, and Springsteen’s 1960 Chevrolet Corvette.

Admission to the exhibit is $24.50 for adults, $23 for seniors and students, and $12 for children ages 4-12.  Group rates also are available.  Admission to the Center’s main exhibition, The Story of We the People, including the award-winning theater production Freedom Rising, is included.

Last Gasp For GH

Although it seems like ABC wants to get out of the soap business, the influx of One Life to Live people has been wonderful for General Hospital. Hopefully, ABC will find a place on the schedule for GH when Katie Couric begins in September.

New Favorite Not So New Show

I just discovered Enlightened with Laura Dern and Diane Ladd on HBO. This show gives a much more realistic picture of the corporate world than The Office.

Thank You Temple TV

Thank you to Paul Gluck, George Cummings, and the students at Temple TV for inviting me to participate in Temple Flashback. It was fun talking about my days at TU, what’s happening in the world of television today, and of course, The Brady Bunch.

Stevie TV – Funny New Show!

I caught a hilarious new sketch-comedy show on VH1 called Stevie TV.  The star, Stevie Ryan, who was discovered on YouTube, is as good as anyone on Saturday Night Live.
