Channel 6 Sports Gameplan

With Keith Russell gone and Jamie Apody due with her first son in two weeks, weekend sportscaster Jeff Skversky will be the main sports anchor for 6ABC for awhile.  Also expect weekend morning news anchor Walter Perez, who has filled in for sports in the past, to help out in the sports department.

Another Keith Jones Comes To Town

PHILADELPHIA, PA – June 25, 2012 – NBC10 Philadelphia announced today that Keith Jones will be joining the station as a morning news anchor in early July. Jones will co-anchor NBC10 News Today (M-F 4:30-7:00 a.m.) with NBC10’s Lori Wilson. In addition to his anchoring duties, he will file reports for NBC10 News.

Jones joins NBC10 from WTAE, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA, where he spent two years as a reporter and anchor. Prior to that, he fulfilled the same role at WHSV in Harrisonburg, VA. During his tenure as morning news anchor at WHSV, the station was awarded ‘Best Morning News Show’ by the Virginia Association of Broadcasters. He previously worked at NBC10 as a college intern while attending Villanova University.

“We’re excited to welcome Keith back to NBC10 as part of our on-air team,” said Eric Lerner, President & General Manager of NBC10 Philadelphia. “He has an enthusiasm and energy that our viewers will respond well to.”

Jones has distinguished himself as a solid reporter, covering stories including the dedication of the Flight 98 Memorial in Shanksville, the contentious 2010 Pennsylvania Governor’s race, and the trial of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the team at NBC10,” said Jones, “I look forward to returning home and covering the important stories that affect the community I grew up in.”

Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and minors in philosophy and journalism from Villanova.

CSN Part-Timer Named To Starting Team

PHILADELPHIA – (June 19, 2012) – Comcast SportsNet, the leader in local sports coverage, today announced thatPhiladelphia native Danny Pommells has joined the network’s on-air team.  Pommells has been working part-time for the network since April 2012 after working in the financial field for the past three years.


Pommells’ duties will include reporting on all of Philadelphia’s sports teams for the network’s daily news shows, as well as contributing to and across the network’s mobile and social media platforms.


“I am so fortunate to be doing what I love in my hometown,” said Pommells. “My wife Michaela has been my biggest supporter throughout my entire career, and we are excited to be back in Philly.
