  1. Laura – why did Ch. 6’s Keith Russell leave? I read on Facebook somewhere that he went to Washington DC, but his departure seemed abrupt.

    • This is only a guess, and I absolutely have no proof of this, but I think Channel 6 told him that they were not going to renew his contract in August. They gave him time to find something, then announced that he was leaving when he found a job.

It makes no sense for Russell to leave a job at the number one station in his hometown (Philly) for another job in a smaller market, unless he was forced.

  2. About time a station gets rid of someone who deserves it.

  3. How about this dumb word plays??

  4. Hmmm… I don’t think that was the case. Why would they promote him to 6pm & 11pm after Gary Papa passed away, only to let him go a year and a half later.

  5. A year & one half of word plays & poor performance= FIRED!
