CBS3’s Katie Fehlinger on Cover of Valley Social Magazine





Philadelphia, February 20, 2013 – CBS /CW Philly Meteorologist Katie Fehlinger is featured on the cover of the current issue of Valley Social, the luxury lifestyle magazine of the Lehigh Valley. Fehlinger is also profiled inside the magazine where she talks about her Lehigh Valley roots.


Fehlinger began her broadcasting career in the Lehigh Valley at RCN 4 located in Bath, Pennsylvania and later did feature reporting for WLVT-TV’s Emmy award-winning news/magazine show Tempo where CBS 3 Reporter Nicole Brewer also worked early in her career.


Fehlinger joined CBS 3 and The CW Philly’s morning news team in September, 2011. You can currently see her weekday mornings, 4:30 to 9 a.m. on CBS 3 and 7-9 a.m. on The CW Philly. She is also filling in on Eyewitness News at 5 and 6 p.m. while Meteorologist Kate Bilo is on maternity leave.


Previously, Fehlinger had been the weekend morning news forecaster for WCBS in New York. Before coming to CBS, Fehlinger was a forecaster at AccuWeather, Inc. in State College, Pennsylvania.


Fehlinger graduated summa cum laude from Cedar Crest College in Allentown with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. She also holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in geosciences from Mississippi State University. Fehlinger now resides in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

Jim Breuer To Perform at WMGK Event


Bala Cynwyd, PA (February 20, 2013): Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK-FM and John DeBella (weekday mornings 6am-9am) are proud to present comedian/actor/Saturday Night Live alum Jim Breuer, performing a set of his comedy, on Friday March 1 at XFINITY Live, as part of 102.9 WMGK-FM & John DeBella’s Combat Comedy Series. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Philadelphia area veterans through the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Education Center. Comedian Vinnie Brand will open for Breuer at 8pm sharp. Tickets are available for $20 online at or for $25 at the door the evening of the show. You must be twenty one years or older to attend this event. I didn’t have to ask him to do this, he wanted to do this because he is a strong believer in supporting the men and women who put their lives on the line for our country.”

With over 20 years of stand-up comedy experience, Jim Breuer remains one of today’s top entertainers. He was named one of Comedy Central’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time. He received his ‘big break’ in 1995 when he joined the cast of NBC’s legendary “Saturday Night Live.” During his four years on “SNL,” Breuer quickly became a fan-favorite for his original character “Goat Boy” and his dead-on impressions of actor Joe Pesci. Following his success on “Saturday Night Live,” Breuer starred alongside Dave Chappelle in the cult favorite film “Half Baked.” He has since appeared in the popular films “Zookeeper,” “Dick,” “Titan A.E.” and “Beer League.”

TV Executive to Speak at Press Club Luncheon

The Press Club Serving the Philadelphia Suburbs will hold its monthly luncheon at 12:00p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, at the Rose Tree Inn, located at 1243 N. Providence Road in Media. Jon Gorchow, President of Lenfest Broadcasting, will be the guest speaker.

Lenfest Broadcasting includes two broadcast stations (WMCN TV and Bounce TV) in Philadelphia. WMCN features a variety of programming genres, including a combination of original programs featuring well-known Philadelphia personalities including Dawn Stensland Mendte, Dom Giordano, Don Tollefson, Phil Andrews, and Lou Tilley. Bounce TV is a national broadcast network based in Atlanta founded by Ambassador Andrew Young and Martin Luther King III, with programming that targets adult African Americans.

Prior to his role with Lenfest Broadcasting, Gorchow spent 21 years at Comcast, in roles that included managing CN8, the Comcast Network, heading up national Original Programming, and serving as Vice President of Marketing & Sales for Comcast’s Cable Division.

With a wealth of experience in television programming and marketing, Gorchow will provide an entertaining account of the broadcasting scene in the Philadelphia market. He hinted that he may even bring along a “surprise guest or two.” The public is invited to attend.

OSCARS HISTORY! The first televised Oscar ceremony aired in 1953 allowing millions of movie fans throughout the U.S. and Canada to watch the proceedings live. Now, broadcast internationally, 6abc viewers will watch the awards ceremony alongside viewers in over 200 countries.

Ukee Washington: Teen Angel

Ukee Washington to make cameo appearance in Cherry Hill West student production

Move over, Frankie Avalon. CBS 3 Morning Anchor Ukee Washington has signed on to make a cameo appearance as “Teen Angel,” the role Philadelphia ‘50s teen idol Avalon played in the movie version of “Grease,” in Cherry Hill High School West’s March 2, 2 p.m. matinee of the student production of the popular play. Tickets are $12 for adults/$10 for children and seniors. Other performances are scheduled for February 22 and 23 and March 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. and a February 24th 2 p.m. matinee. Our next Broadcast Pioneers luncheon is “All Things Sports, 2013 Style.” It will be held at the Bala Golf Club, 2200 Belmont Avenue in Philadelphia on Wednesday, February 20th (that’s the third Wednesday of the month). Meet and greet is at 12 noon and lunch will be served at 12:30 pm. Our MC is Joe Pellegrino, former Sports Director at WPVI and sportscaster at WCAU-TV.
