Giant Win for Eagles

Here are some observations about the Giants-Eagles telecast:

Commercial soundtrack – My Boyfriend’s Back, Somewhere Only We Know, Bang Bang, That’s the Way I Like It, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Christmas in Hollis, Can You Feel It, Your Love, Living on the Edge

Cliche Philly songs used for the broadcast – Philadelphia Freedom, Eye of the Tiger, Rocky theme

Best fan – The man dressed as a green Heat Miser from The Year Without a Santa Clause

Best highlight from another game – A touchdown celebration re-creating Allen Iverson stepping over Tyrone Lue

It’s a Quarterback’s world – Three commercials in a row featuring Eli Manning, Tony Romo, and Aaron Rodgers

Remote, controlled – Using the split screen to squeeze in commercials

Cute – The NFL Pro Shop ad featuring an Eagles and Cowboys fan battling in the elevator

It’s the Law for every Eagles/Giants game – Showing the picture of Chuck Bednarik hovering over Frank Gifford

Breaking the Law – The telecast did not show the Miracle of the Meadowlands or somebody making a cheesesteak

With a career that has included five successful television shows – Saturday Night Live, Seinfeld, Watching Ellie, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and Veep, there were plenty of former co-stars to make it a hilarious special.

It is worth watching it alone for Jacobson’s and Glazer’s interpretation of the Elaine dance.

It’s Time For ABC to Admit It Was Wrong

With word that yet another ABC afternoon show, GMA Day is tanking in the ratings, isn’t it time for ABC to bring back either All My Children or One Life to Live?

GMA Day follows The Revolution, The Chew, and others that have failed since ABC unceremoniously dumped the soaps back in 2014.

Go Camping This Weekend

Check out Lena Dunham’s new series, Camping on HBO Sunday at 10 p.m. It isn’t getting the same love that Girls did, but it is funny. Dunham does not appear on screen, but she and now former producing partner Jenni Konner are the brains behind it.

Jennifer Garner stars, with a huge assist from Juliette Lewis. Lewis, who is basically playing the same character on The Conners is having a moment!
