Philly sportscaster Steve Fredericks died of pancreatic cancer Sunday at the age of 72.

    Steve used to delight in doing WRTI time checks in Japanese. Back then we had Merrill Reese, Tom Cardella, Steve & Phil Jasner doing sportscasts & Temple Football, Basketball & even Baseball (usually on tape delay).

    May he rest in peace.
    Boy did he have good “pipes”.
    The good old days in sports talk radio was when you had the fierce competition between Fredericks and Eskin.

    He and Missanelli were a very entertaining duo in the afternoon. Much better than what’s on that station now.
