COMCAST SPORTSNET ADDS SIDELINE REPORTER MEREDITH MARAKOVITS
TO SIXERS BROADCAST TEAM
Season Opens on October 27 with High Definition Broadcast, Plus Extensive Pre and Postgame Coverage
PHILADELPHIA- (October 26, 2010) – Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, the leader in local sports coverage, today announced that Meredith Marakovits has joined the network as a sideline reporter for all home Sixers broadcasts. She joins longtime Sixers broadcaster Marc Zumoff and former Sixer and new color analyst Eric Snow on the Emmy-Award winning broadcast. The Sixers open their 2010-11 season on Wednesday, October 27 against the Miami Heat.
Marakovits most recent work includes covering the New York Mets and New York Yankees for ESPN 1050, and reporting for SportsNet New York. She previously covered the 76ers while working for ESPN 950 in Philadelphia. Marakovits is a graduate of La Salle University where she played Division I volleyball.
Season Opener
On Wednesday, October 27 Comcast SportsNet airs “Sixers Pregame Live” at 6:30 p.m. from the AT&T Pavilion in the Wells Fargo Center. The live game broadcast tips off at 7 p.m. with the new broadcast team of Zumoff, Snow and Marakovits. “Sixers Postgame Live” will immediately follow the game on Comcast SportsNet.
High Definition Broadcasts
Comcast SportsNet and The Comcast Network will air 81 of 82 Sixers game this season with all games available in high definition.
Sixers Basketball Analysts
Comcast SportsNet has added two new faces to the network’s roster of basketball analysts. Temple University star and NBA veteran Marc Jackson, who played two seasons for the Sixers, and former 76ers GM/coach Jim Lynam, join former Villanova Wildcat and NBAer John Celestand to provide expert analysis throughout the season on “Sixers Pregame Live” and “Sixers Postgame Live.”

The region’s premier sports website, CSNPhilly.com is the online source for all Sixers news. CSNPhilly.com’s Sixers Insider Dei Lynam will preview each game, provide postgame recaps and provide insight on the team in her “Dei-Tales” blog. CSNPhilly.com will also provide live streamed coverage of the Sixers’ postgame press conferences. Sixers’ fans can also follow the game with “In-Game Live” where viewers can track each Sixers game through box scores, play-by-plays and stats.

OK I just GOOGLED “Maria Marakovits”………..not a bad lookin blonde, heres a few qutes from MARCH 2010 “I’m very grateful to SECTV for giving me the opportunity to grow as a sports reporter,” Marakovits said. “I thoroughly enjoyed covering our local Pennsylvania teams making it a difficult decision to leave. Ultimately, a chance to cover arguably the most passionately followed sports franchise in the world in the country’s largest media market seemed too good an opportunity to pass up.”……………..I guess NY wasnt all that? Or shes doing this since the NYY seasons over………..Nice to see a young fresh blonde, Leslie Guidels starting to look more like an maturing mom……….

Good Point. However, most of the women do trade on their looks from the start. Not to many “average” looking women in the TV markets.
especially now after the transition to HDTV when its one wrinkle on the face and you’re thru, even if you have an accident despite the fact that you are a longtime and much loved personality (note this is just an example!!)

Says Who? Just because Comcast pontificates that they have, “the region’s premier sports website,” DOES NOT make that a fact but simply a subjective opinion. Enough already with the attempted brain washing of the masses, that’s way too creepy, CSN. Time to get over yourselves. The site is okay, but it’s CERTAINLY not THAT good.
